In brief: MacNN has reviewed MacSoft's Drop Point: Alaska, for snowboarding enthusiasts. The game allows players to drop from helicopters onto virgin mountain peaks, snowboarding on over 100 challenging trials. The rendering of snowy mountains provides strong visuals, for systems that can handle the visual challenge (Mac Mini owners may not have the best experience). Drop Point Alaska offers a vast playing area but may be too much for low-end machines.
comScore Media Metrix ranks Top 50 US Web properties for July 2008
comScore has released July rankings of US web properties with Apple falling out of the top ten in unique visitors, falling to 11th with 46,080 visitors for July. CBS took over Apple's former 10th place with 48,191 unique visitors. Firefox's Mozilla Corporation nearly doubled their unique visitors to 18,323, the second largest month-over-month gain, while Google was first overall with 141,579 unique visitors and Yahoo second with 140,302.
