Celio REDFLY price drop

The Celio Corp announced on Thursday that its REDFLY Mobile Companion will be priced at $399, representing a 20 percent price drop, and was updated to support 12 Windows Mobile smart phones, bringing the total up to 19. Like the original version of the smart phone terminal, the device allows smartphone users to use a keyboard and larger screen for access to notes, email, spreadsheets and other Windows Mobile applications via a USB 2.0 connection.

The small device features an 800x480-pixel display and allows users to enter data and navigate their phones via its keyboard and touchpad. Supported remote access clients include Citrix, RDP, Stoneware, GoToMyPC and LogMeIn. Celio is hyping the REDFLY's lack of onboard memory or CPU as security benefits, since losing one won't mean any data is lost or in danger of being copied. Another advantage Celio is quick to point out is its 8-hour battery life, which can also charge the attached phone via the USB connection. The REDFLY supports smart phones running on the Windows Mobile OS from HP, HTC, Palm, Motorola and Samsung, among others.
