Canvastic 3.5 intros new controls, sound functions

Canvastic updated to 3.5


Canvastic has announced the immediate release of an update to its self-titled software, an integrated writing, graphics and publishing tool specifically designed for students in grades K-8. Version 3.5 expands on the concept of flexibility, as teachers can now add extra customization to students' work environments. The update has also has improved audio tool, with iTunes integration, a new voice recording tool, and an option for inserting sounds. The added audio becomes an object that can be plated in a document or presentation.

New graphical tools include transparency controls for colors and text, new brush shapes, and additional backgrounds and art. The spell-checking feature has also received updates, as teachers can now turn it on or off. The "learn" button can also be turned off, preventing students from adding their own words to the dictionary and corrupting it.

The update is free for all paid and registered users. Registered users that have not paid can upgrade for 50 percent of the the posted educational prices. A single-user license costs $40, or an unlimited school building license can be purchased for $950.
