Boris Continuum Units
Boris FX on Thursday announced three families of Boris Continuum Units, allowing users to piecemeal the Boris Continuum Complete set to meet their editing needs. Boris is offering Pan and Zoom, UpRez, and Chroma Key as separately purchasable components, with the option to apply the purchase price towards the full cost of Boris Continuum complete. Boris FX is selling Pan and Zoom for $200, while UpRez is $100, and Chroma Key is available for $300.
Pan and Zoom allows users to emulate popular effects done by artist Ken Burns. It features on-screen controls for size and position of zoom, anchor points, and a rendered preview of the final result. Manual keyframing and automated workflows are both supported.
UpRez provides users with tools to upscale standard-definition video footage to high-definition, a process that Boris FX claims to be "sophisticated image sampling techniques with edge detection."
Lastly, Chroma Key provides "greenscreen" automating for videographers, with Spill Supression, Color Match, Grain Match, and Matt Choker tools.
