Cinema 4D Release 11
Maxon on Tuesday unveiled Cinema 4D Release 11, a major update to its 3D animation suite, introducing an enhanced lighting engine, animation tools, and improved render speeds, among other features. In addition to the aforementioned inclusions, Cinema 4D now offers enhanced compatibility with other industry software, such as the COLLADA file format, and the CineMan Renderman accompaniment. The updated sweet also comes with BodyPaint 3D Release 4, which now includes WACOM tablet support.
Cinema 4D borrowed some of its own custom-made matte painting effects to include with Projection Man, allowing users to achieve effects similar to those seen in Hollywood films like Hancock, or Speed Racer.
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard users will enjoy a fully 64-bit aware application experience, being completely rebuilt from the ground up on a 64-bit Cocoa code base. This adds improved performance when dealing with large files and memory pools.

ho-hum update

Damn, I was so hoping for a reworked modeling toolset :(((
Full support for formats like IGES,CATIA, SWF or SW3D would've looked somewhat professional as well. Bummer. Back to Maya and Modo then.

SWF support would have been nice, but 64 bit support is something that Maya will not give you under Mac OSX even in the new release announced, coincidentally, today.
