MacPractice can ePrescribe
MacPractice has announced eRx NOW support for its medial practice applications. eRx NOW is a free system for prescribing medications electronically, developed by Allscripts, a member of NEPSI (National ePrescribing Patient Safety Initiative). eRx NOW records prescription histories, alerts users to drug interactions and is available via the internet. Due to Legislation passed in July that will reward physicians who ePrescribe starting in 2009 and penalize those that don't ePrescribe starting in 2010, Mac Practice saw the need to begin supporting ePrescribe options, starting with eRx NOW.
MacPractice says it will also offer a more integrated solution later in 2008.
“We are pleased to cooperate with the NEPSI initiative to improve healthcare in America by supplying doctors with a free solution for ePrescribing on a Mac, iPhone or any other Internet device,” said Mark Hollis, President and co-founder of MacPractice.
