Frogger resurrected for iPhone

Frogger game for iPhone

A new version of the popular game Frogger has been released for the iPhone. Konami has carried the Frogger legacy across 27 years from the original 1981 arcade version. The player's frog must avoid moving obstacles on the way home across the pond, jumping past cars on the street or riding logs and turtles while crossing a river. Successfully navigating five frogs to safety will open the next level.

Frogger 1.0.0 is available from the App Store for $10. The iPhone 2.0 Software Update is required.

    $9.99?

Really? I mean, Frogger was/is a fun game, but there's no way it's "$10 fun". Compared to some of the newer, very-creative games which are going for $5 to $10 on the store, this just simply isn't worth it.

Konami: Reprice this at $1.99 (perhaps $2.99, if you want to try to milk those who appreciate the nostalgia), and you might have a viable game.

    I understand

why you would not charge $1.99. The business model is "Double the price, double the demand."

But know the value of volume. 1000 people buying a $10 game isn't as profitable as 10,000 people buying a $4.99 game.

    Why??

Why are they not offering this outside of the US iTunes store?

    Got Milk?

Wow! Even the Xbox Live version was only $5.00 (and it has leaderboards and co-op play).

Apple's open pricing is liberal and I want it to stay that way. But, some developers are interpreting that as "swing for the fences." Then, when they're over priced product doesn't sell, they will say the App Store was a failed venture. Idiots!

    Overpriced

There's no way in h*** I'm paying $10 for this rehashed basic game. I'd buy this if it were priced around $2-$3, but as it is now, skip it. There's a whole world of much better games available, priced much more reasonably than this offering.

    Why are you people...

always bitching so much about prices for games as the App Store. Outrageously priced games?! OMFG! One lousy pack of cigarettes cost almost $10. One frickin' Angus Burger almost costs $5 where I live.
    Check this place out: http://www.pocketgear.com
This place doesn't seem any cheaper for various mobile devices even when the games are just rehashed stuff. Jeez, if the App Store games are way too expensive, then maybe gamers should just spend more time earning money instead of playing games. Thank goodness no one is forcing you to buy those ultra-expensive $5 games. The developer might become a millionaire overnight.

    This is a bad Frogger

I just purchased thsi game this morning. It is the worst Frogger I've ever played in my life.

The music has been replaced with an eery tune, the controls are horrible, the graphics are annoying, and the overall playability is totally shot!

To top it all off, I actually spent $10 for this c***. The OSX FROGSTER widget is much closer to the original than this piece of c***.
