IOGear DVI, HDMI products

IOGear has introduced several new DVI and HDMI accessories for home theaters and game consoles. New DVI and HDMI MiniExtender Kits allow users to expand their A/V network up to "hundreds of feet." IOGear has also released two HDMI switches including a three-port model that automatically switches to the port currently in use. A new four-port model switches HDMI via a remote control.

The two Cat5e/6 HDMI MiniExtender kits not only allows home users to separate their A/V equipment -- there are many professional uses as well. Digital sign companies can control 1080p display units up to 100 feet away and up to 200 feet for 1080i units. Construction companies can use the extenders to remotely monitor equipment in high-risk locations. The DVI MiniExtender requires no separate power supply, and allows users to place a single 1920 X 1080 display up to 100 feet away from the DVI source. The extender kits send DVI or HDMI signals into a transmitter connected to a remote receiver using two standard solid Category 5 twisted ethernet cables.

WIth the growing number of televisions, gaming consoles, cameras and DVD players using HDMI, the company's new HDMI switches offer users room to grow. The automatic model uses IOGear's patented HDAS technology to sense which items are in use, and switch inputs accordingly. The four-port model uses a traditional remote control or front-panel switch buttons.

The GVE-300 HDMI MiniExtender sells for $280, while the GVE200 DVI model goes for $70. IOGear's 3-port automatic HDMI switch and the four-port remote control version each sell for $90. All of the new products carry a three-year warranty and are available immediately online or at various retailers. close
