13in Alu MacBook Case Leak

Photos have surfaced of what is likely to be the casing for an all-aluminum 13-inch MacBook through a leak from Taiwan site Apple.pro. Coming from the same source as a MacBook Pro casing earlier in the year that has since been corroborated by outside sources, the leak shows what appears to be the lid for the new system and would confirm both the switch from plastic to metal as well as the rumored tapered edges that are reminiscent of the MacBook Air.

The images appear to have been leaked in part by repair site AppleOwner, which lists a new MacBook shell in its catalog.

Little else is revealed about the system, though most expect the new system to be based on the Core 2 Duo processors that accompanied the Centrino 2 platform launch but with a customized mainboard chipset that may use components from NVIDIA or other companies rather than the reference Intel design. This launch would have both the MacBook and MacBook Pro redesigns introduced towards late September. [via Engadget]

    Drumming up Traffic?

this is the case for the MacBook Air.

Did you look at the pictures at all, or is this an attempt to drum-up traffic.

    Either way, pretty pathetic.

    Most fascinating...!

Amazing how stuff like this makes it newsworthy for Apple fan base. Just to make sure, though, not to make wrong conclusions about this; the fan base gets excited because, unlike any other normal company, Apple keeps literally everything a secret. The world has a dire need to know more. Wall Street wants to know in order to better predict the stock movement; others have their own reasons, and info simply isn't available.

    How fun!

    White apple

How about the White Apple at the first bottom image? Isn't it wrongly placed?

    Fake

Draw a line from the middle point -- where the camera is (even with the perspective, you'll see what I mean)-- and you will see that 'MacBook' is not centered... they Photoshop'd out the 'Air' part. I doubt they removed 'Pro' ...

    dire need my...

I doubt the world has a dire need to know. I doubt Apple would be better off spilling the beans about upcoming products.
Apple has a business model and if they were to change it, it would be in their own time, on their own terms.

    Just the way it is!

You don't think for an instant these sorts of "leaked secrets" would stop if Apple did announce their product specifications well before they were available, do you?

    wth?

That first picture doesn't even look like some form of a rectangle, let alone the odd placement/orientation of the white apple.

"Coming this Holiday season: The Brand New MacBookThing!"

    "Hi, I'm a Mac" ... "And I'm a PC."
"Say PC, why you so "square" these days?" (laughter, applause, disbelief)

Is the second photo trying to make it seem that this would be a tablet in the same vein as the published patent for a sliding screen to cover the keyboard, or is it just cutting off the keyboard? If it's the former, it looked better in crappy CAD form on the patent application. If these are indeed true I'm going to be very sad next spring when it's time to put the PBG4 out to pasture.
