Piranesi hand-sculpting for Modo 302
Informatix Software says its Piranesi "3D Painting Technology" tool now works with Luxology's Modo 302. Piranesi gives a hand-rendered look to 3D sculptures, models and images created in Modo 302. Informatix has developed a free EPix plug-in using the Modo SDK, so files can be exported to Piranesi. Luxology says Piranesi is a "good match" with Modo, and welcomed the move. Both applications run on Macs or Windows PCs.
"Piranesi is one of the cooler applications for giving a hand-rendered look to your 3D model with a minimum of fuss," said Bob Bennett, Vice President of Marketing for Modo, "Many times that is exactly what you want to deliver to your AEC clients, particularly in the early stages of a project." Modo is a polygon/subdivision surface modeler widely used by architects and visualization specialists.
The EPix file exporter plug-in is available as a free download. Piranesi and Modo 302 both require Mac OS X 10.4 or later.
