UniKey for Mac, Linux
SecuTec has added enhanced Mac OS X and Linux support to its line of UniKey USB dongle-based software protection products. The company says the UniKey line now offers support for "all major operating systems." Using "driverless techology" UniKey HID USB security dongles now work with Power PC and Intel Macs running OS X, as well as most versions of Linux and Windows.
UniKey dongles prevent piracy by locking software to a USB "hardware key" or dongle (dongle). SecuTech says its driverless technology reduces the need for techical support, because drivers are automatically installed by the computer's OS when a security dongle is inserted.
Dongles are available in three configurations: UniKey STD for standalone use, UniKey PRO for network applications a compact version called UniKey Lite. Pricing varies depending on the size and type of configuration.

Inline design...?

...I wish these animals would allow inline placement rather than consuming valuable usb port 'real estate', especially for laptop use...

any software that requires a dongle, even if pass-through USB dongles were an option.

I found that Unikey from SecuTech has been far superior when I checked around.
I've seen HASP and some others become available from some "cloning" companies that can essentially creat duplicates, Not Unikey so far.
Their dev kit is free and dongle price is very very good.
