Visual voicemail on unlocked first-gen iPhone [video]

First-gen iPhone in Canada

Visual voicemail can be added to an unlocked first-gen iPhone in Canada and will function properly, one reader reports. There are a few conditions that need to be met before it will work though: he iPhone must be unlocked, the visual voicemail feature must be added to your existing plan with either Rogers or Fido and the account must also have some sort of data plan as well or this feature will not work. Some users have reportedly had issues with customer service representatives not allowing them to add the visual voicemail pack to their plan, others have had no issues though, the video proves the process is possible, so with enough persistence with Rogers or Fido customer service representatives, users in Canada may be able to use visual voicemail on a (hacked) first-generation iPhone in Canada.
