updated 03:45 pm EDT, Tue July 15, 2008

phoneagent upgrade

Earlier today MacMedia announced the release of an update to PhoneAgent, syncing software for Mac OS X and Sony Ericsson mobile phones. Version 1.5 adds support to another model in the Ericsson line, the C902. This brings the number of Ericsson's supported 13, including the T610, T616, T630, T637, Z600, K700i, K750i, K790i, K800i, K810i, W800i, W880 and C902. PhoneAgent allows Mac users to easily modify the information on their phones using tools in the program as opposed to entering data directly on the phone. This means that data can be quickly and easily typed on desktop or laptop, decreasing the hassle of entering data on the phones. Tools include a Phonebook editor, SMS messaging, calender editor, MMS message editor, theme editor, tile exchange, task editor, bookmark importer and a notes editor.

Each of the tools offers multiple functions for streamlining data input into different categories. Users can either choose to register the software for about $50 for a single user license, or upgrade from version 1.2.6 for roughly $25. A user may also choose to use the software unregistered but then lose the ability to upload phone memory phonebook to the phone, send SMS messages, save SMS messages written in PhoneAgent, delete SMS messages from the phone, upload themes or save themes.
