MobileMe still missing me.com logins, push
Several days after its launch, MobileMe still remains only partially functional, Apple admits. On the service's status page, Apple notes that the me.com login page remains non-functional, along with groups. A MobileMe update for Mac OS X, spotted through Software Update early during the launch process, has also been withdrawn.
Within its support pages, Apple has further explained that MobileMe does not use "true" push technology, but rather a timed operation. Instead of sending contacts, calendars and e-mail data out to the cloud whenever a change is made, the "Automatically" setting in MobileMe Push only syncs in 15-minute intervals. A message read on an iPhone, for instance, will not register on a Mac until a quarter of an hour later.
People are additionally complaining that it is impossible to setup a non-Me reply address for MobileMe e-mail while still retaining push capabilities. The only solution at present appears to be maintaining separate IMAP and POP accounts, with the former for non-push mail sync, and the other for contacts, calendars and bookmarks.

login is working for me
the login is working for me as of 8:30 PDT
you're kidding
The whole thing was that it was push email. Now it's only every 15 min. Which is exactly what we have already. You lying bastards.
not push?
Come on Apple, if it isn't 'push', don't call it push. You market it as "Add a contact, see it over there immediately" and now say "well, you'll see it in 15 minutes". What's up with that?
All it sounds like now is that they do just run a .Mac sync every 15 minutes.
ah oh
Sounds like Apple mis-represented this whole "me" thing.
email...
I also don't get the whole 'email' thing though. Isn't what MobileMe claims the same as what you'd get with IMAP anyway?
I get the others (which is basically IMAP for contacts and calendars, I guess), but mail just sounds so "yeah, and...".
Article has it wrong..
Changes made on the iPhone or via the me.com web site are indeed pushed to one other, it's only the desktop that is synced in intervals.
I don't know why they have done this... I'm just assuming it's a technical limitation that will be fixed in the future.
Also, don't forget that you can hit the sync icon in the menu to cause a sync immediately.

Actionable?
Time to call the lawyers...
According to Apple's site: "On your iPhone and the web, sync happens continuously."
From Apple's dictionary application: "continuous |k?n?tinyo??s|
adjective
1 forming an unbroken whole; without interruption : the whole performance is enacted in one continuous movement. USAGE In precise usage, continual means 'frequent, repeating at intervals' and continuous means 'going on without pause or interruption':
It looks like the 15 minute line is now on the MobileMe pages. Anyone know if that was up there the whole time?
Home page is not log-in..
Get your facts correct. Homepage is part of the original iTools service and .mac service. It's not a log-in page for MobileMe but was your web site prior to iWeb.....
I'm finding the best way to update things is just to use the web apps so that things are pushed to your iPhone straight away. Keeps everything in one place as well rather than having multiple applications open.
the Phone pushes
The iPhone and iPod DO push. Email yourself and see. The article is referring to the Desktops being a little slower to receive those updates.
Less feature than .Mac
The MobileMe mail has less feature than .Mac mail... All the contact integration is gone : no more auto-completion, no more "add sender", no more picture from folks in your address book appearing!!
That's terrible
