BodyGuardz, Power Support: clear film iPhone shield

updated 12:45 pm EDT, Fri July 11, 2008

Clear covers for iPhone

Buying an iPhone is a substantial investment, and many owners opt for cases or covers to prevent dings and scratches. Two companies have announced plastic film products for the iPhone 3G. Power Support Power Support is offering two types of screen protection for the new device, while NLU Products is releasing a plastic film "skin" that completely covers the iphone and other products.

Power Support' s anti-glare screen protectors address a common complaint from iPhone users about smudges on the screen. The protector's dull finish minimizes fingerprints, and can be removed for cleaning and reapplied. Power support is also offering its crystal film screen protectors for the new iPhone. Both products are kept in place by "static cling," and sell for $15.

NLU Products is expanding its BodyGuardz line to the new iPhone. Made from the same plastic film used to make "clear bras" for cars, the plastic skins cover the entire device, including the screen. NLU says BodyGuardz are removable, and don't leave sticky residue behind. NLU says it is also releasing a screen protector skin, and has introduced a new line of printed plastic film covers called "TatSkinz." Bodyguardz are available now for $25.
