New iPhone apps are being announced at a fast pace to coincide with the launch of the Apple's Apps Store today. Ten new iPhone apps include three from Houdah Software (ACTSudoku, ACTCurrency and ACTGratuity), two from FlipSide5 (Touch Tennis and Touch Hockey), TheCodingMonkeys' Circulator 1.0 and TLA Systems PCalc. Also, Salesforce.com's Salesforce Mobile, Yelp's Yelp for iPhone and PopCap's Bejeweled 2 round out some of announcements, following earlier ones by Major League Baseball, Ebay, Loopt, TypePad, and others: announced at WWDC in June. Also, G-Spot and G-Park from PosiMotion, ZapTek's Legends book service and an independent release, MobileTerminal.

From Houdah Software: ACTSudoku gives users three levels (easy, medium, hard) of Sudoku games for $3, ACTCurrency provides a currency converter that works as a user types for $1. Currency switches take only two clicks, for an easy, intuitive conversion. Also, ACTGratuity calculates tips as the numbers are typed in real-time, and gives read-outs for different percentages of tips - it displays tips appropriate for poor (12.5%), OK (15%), good (17.5%) and excellent (20%) service. It costs $1.

FlipSide5 has announced Touch Tennis ($2) and Touch Hockey (coming in August, price unannounced) to go with their previously announced Tic-Tac-Touch ($2) and 4InARow touch, which includes an online game service, for $5. All of FlipSide5's games utilize the touch elements of the iPhone for gameplay. Touch Tennis presents arcade-style retro table tennis while Touch Hockey gives an air hockey game experience.

TheCodingMonkeys have announced Circulator 1.0, a $6 iPhone App that keeps track of all the things users borrow and lend, like books, DVDs, games, gadgets and money. It can send reminders by SMS or email, can add pictures with the iPhone's built-in camera or from your photo library and has a history function.

TLA Systems has announced PCalc, its first iPhone app. It is a feature-rich calculator that retails for $10. The iPhone App switches from basic to full-featured based on iPhone orientation.

Salesforce.com has announced its Salesforce Mobile tracking customer records, recalling customer contact information and reach back to the salseforce CRM database for more customer info. The iPhone App is free for Salesforce Unlimited edition customers.

Yelp has released Yelp for iPhone, which helps consumers find the best nearby businesses using location-aware technology. It can Find local businesses, search for highly rated local businesses within walking, biking or driving distance, and plot the results on a map and bookmark businesses for future reference. It is a free app.

PopCap has announced Bejeweled 2 which offers touch screen support for $10. The game features a gems-based 2-D puzzle, swapping them to get three in a row earns users points, and it can be played against the clock.

$10 for bejeweled on a phone? Sigh...
