Hands on with iPhone 2.0 upgrade, App store [photos]

With the release of the iPhone 2.0 firwmare (available from Apple's own servers), we installed the software on our previously "jailbroken" and "unlocked" iPhone without any problems (no word yet on whether the unlock is still working). The entire process took about 20 minutes (maybe a bit longer) using iTunes' restore function (download the software and click option. We have the first screenshots of the painfully long process.

easier or harder to use in order to download apps than a typical WinMo handset?

The URL given was an Akamai direct URL, a link to the company the distributes files for Apple. It isn't working now, but I was able to work backwards and determine the real URL on Apple's domain:

http://info.apple.com/iPhone/061-4955.20080710.bgt53/iPhone1,22.05A347_Restore.ipsw

Enjoy!

In the last photo (presumably setting up Mail.app) why does it have both MobileMe AND .Mac?

Did the upgrade but noticed I can't change my wallpaper now. I can pull up a picture from my photo library, but when I want to select "Set Wallpaper" nothing happens with any of the buttons except the top right-hand "cancel" button. I wonder how many more issues are going to showup
