Austrian, Italian iPhone 3Gs to lack free hotspots

iPhone 3G hotspot access
Policies for iPhone 3G access to carrier Wi-Fi should vary dramatically around the world, reports say. While carriers such as AT&T and Rogers Wireless have committed to free hotspot access with a subscription, other countries may not hold this policy in common. Vodafone Italy now admits that it will not be offering any free access, and Orange Switzerland says this will be limited to 100 hours per month.
Buyers through One Austria will not have any sort of hotspot access, though this is because the company does not have a Wi-Fi network to speak of. A number of other carriers -- namely 3 Hong Kong, Telnet Mexico, and Vodafone's New Zealand and Portugal branches -- have meanwhile remained quiet on the subject of hotspots.

ATT hotspots
When did ATT formally announce access to their hotspots to data plan subscribers? Yes, it's been on, then off but nowhere have I seen a firm commitment on ATT's part to provide WiFi as a part of their plans.
