Apple: No iPhones at Apple Canada retail shops
Apple will not be selling the iPhone 3G at its Canadian retail stores, company representatives suggest. "The iPhone 3G will be available in Canada from Rogers and Fido," says Simon Atkins, an Apple spokesman. The news appears to be circumstantially supported by representatives at two separate Apple Stores, who also claim that the decision was made because Rogers has more than Apple's six Canadian locations, making it better capable of delivering the multiple plans on offer. Rogers has yet to issue a reply to inquiries from the CBC.
The statements conflict with earlier rumors however, indicating that Apple is not only keeping phones from its shops, but that it is doing so to punish Rogers for unusually high subscription fees, which can go as high as $115 per month without providing unlimited data access. Punishment is further believed to include lower iPhone shipments in general.

Total Fiction
Any chance you might do just a minute's research before posting this tripe? None of the Apple stores around the world (aside from the US) are selling the 3G iPhones. There is no story here whatsoever. Rogers had its iPhone stock in teh warehouses some weeks ago.
trite not tripe
better to save this gent from embarrassment in an anonymous fashion than have somebody do it to him in person.
don't activate it...
Well... i personally think that buying the phones at the apple store without activating it with rogers would be more damageable to rogers and Fido, because apple would sell those at the sponsored prize.
That way, you don't have to sign up for those very expensive plans (be sure you call Fido or rogers to disable 3g or edge as those would be very expensive anyways)
It's not a perfect solution, but it would hit rogers because you won't be liable to a 3 years contract.
Fiction indeed
Apple would have been fully aware of the Rogers plans and they were probably the result of considerable negotiation.
This noise is simply the product of the echo chamber of the blog sphere nothing more.
If any of you bothered to click on "where to buy" after the iPhone site for Canada went live, you would have seen that Rogers and Fido were the only place to buy one for Canada.
