Packard Bell ipower X2.0

Packard Bell is planning to take its first steps into the world of high-end gaming PCs, an announcement reveals. The company has announced the ipower X2.0, a revamping of its current ipower systems that is said to be aimed at garnering more attention. Foremost in the construction is a new case design, which adds highly angular corners to a glossy black finish. As with many gaming computers, owners can see the insides of the system through a translucent panel.

The company is withholding detailed specifications, but says it plans to offer a choice of Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Extreme processors, along with the latest AMD and Nvidia graphics cards. Accessory options are more extensive, including water cooling, a TV tuner, 7.1-channel audio support, and a Blu-ray drive. A monitor and keyboard are not being bundled with the system by default.

The X2.0 is currently scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter of the year, to Packard Bell's native European market; prices should range between 999 to 1,799.
