New ringtone options debut for the iPhone

RingtoneFeeder has announced a new way of packaging and distributing music, called "Dynamic Albums" which provides updates to the album, delivered via RSS, for 12 months after the release date. RingtoneFeeder is $2 per month or $20 per year, while RingtoneStudio is $15 and requires iTunes and Mac OS X 10.4 or higher. Also PocketMac has announced RingtoneStudio for the iPhone, a new tool that allows iPhone users to make ringtones out of most movies or unprotected music files on the Mac.

RingtoneFeeder updates include karaoke versions, video clips, exclusive invitations to private USTREAM concerts, special tracks and unique ringtones. The subscription model automatically installs two new ringtones on the iPhone via iTunes every week. The 10 latest ringtones are delivered when subscribing and then an additional two ringtones are added every week. There is also a free demo feed available. The free feed contains a few sample ringtones as well as an introduction video and a PDF guide to managing ringtones via iTunes.

PocketMac's RingtoneStudio is a drag-and-drop automated ringtone generator. After the user drops a movie or sound file onto the application it converts the file into a proper ringtone format. It then transfers the file to the Ringtones folder in iTunes. When the user next connects an iPhone, the ringtones are automatically synced.
