Nikon D700 Magazine Leak

Nikon's often-leaked D700 digital SLR has been given further evidence through a leaked set of photos from German magagine Profifoto. The seemingly authentic page spread reaffirms the camera's position in between the D300 and D3 with a 12.1 megapixel sensor and a 95 percent viewfinder; it should shoot up to ISO 6,400 in normal operation (with no word of an expanded ISO 25,600 mode) and up to five frames per second in RAW (8 frames with a battery grip).

The camera should also have a dust removal sensor, a shutter speed between 1/8000 and 30 seconds, and a pop-up flash for moments when a hot-shoe model is impractical.

Also described in the magazine is the Speedlight SB900, a new external flash that would sit above the SB800. The unit is similar in most respects to its ancestor but will reportedly be effective at more focal ranges than the SB800, ranging from between 17mm to 200mm versus the 24 to 105mm of the older model.

Both the D700 and the SB900 are increasingly expected to launch sometime this week and may be announced as early as Tuesday. [via DP Review forums]
