Moto ZINE ZN5 Official

Motorola tonight unveiled its long-rumored ZINE ZN5 phone. The handset is Motorola's first team-up with Kodak and sees the handset receive a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with a Xenon flash as well as software touches added by Kodak, including automatic image enhancement as well as panorama stitching. The camera maker also offers direct uploads to its own Kodak Gallery photo hosting site, while Motorola preloads ShoZu for uploading to Facebook and other social networks.

Outside of its camera, the phone makes data more of a focus than some past Motorola handsets with built-in Wi-Fi and a full HTML browser; the company says the device will support all four GSM calling bands but is limited to 2G-grade EDGE data outside of Wi-Fi. A microSD slot holds up to 4GB of storage, while Bluetooth helps with both wireless headsets as well as Bluetooth-equipped printers from Kodak or other companies.

Motorola's first ZN5 debut takes places in China, which receives the device in July; other areas should have access to the phone before the end of 2008. The ZINE line is new for Motorola and is expected to include more devices, including an 8-megapixel touchscreen phone that may also have true optical zoom.
