Microspot 3D Toolbox

Microspot has released 3D Toolbox, an editing tool which lets users view and edit 3D Studio Max and SketchUp files; models from either program can be incorporated into the same scene. The free version of the software provides tools for shape editing, color selection and backdrop insertion, but the $15 Standard edition is required to save files and export high-resolution images.

This also adds the Library Viewer, and support for eight different add-on packs, covering aspects such as textures, animation, and lighting and rendering. Both versions of the software require Mac OS X 10.4, and an Intel or G5 Mac with at least 1GB of RAM. Packs cost either $29 or $39.

    Free?

Can't save files, can't export... How is that free? Other 3D apps call those crippled versions "Learning Editions" or something a little more forthcoming. Yes, I'm still downloading it to check it out. ;P
