3G iPhone at Apple retail?
Apple retail stores around the world are beginning to receive mysterious boxes (one box per store) with strict instructions not to be opened until next week, along with new unidentified signage. It's unknown at this time what exactly is in these boxes but a couple false reports have come in stating they contain a version 2.0 iPhone display unit. An AppleInsider report is posting similar information taking place in Apple retails stores across Australia.
The World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) does not start until tomorrow but news surrounding a 3G iPhone is already coming out of Spain. Corriere della Sere is reporting that TelefÚnica, the exclusive iPhone service provider in Spain, is reporting that the new version of the iPhone will be sold at a discounted price (156 circa) to those customers who sign a new two-year contract with the company. This business practice, if true, will go against everything Apple has done in the past when it comes to the selling of its iPhone product.
