Friday, June 6thLG Dare for Verizon spied, detailed
Verizon's first all-touchscreen media phone has been spotted late yesterday in a working form and has accompanying new details to match. The LG Dare, also known as the VX9700, is now believed to have EVDO Revision A cellular data that should help it compete against both the Samsung Instinct on Sprint as well as the updated iPhone and other competing devices on AT&T's 3G network. The phone should also support Real's Rhapsody music service and use microSDHC cards for 8GB or more of storage.
Previously, the phone has already been confirmed as having a 3.2-megapixel camera, a 400x240 display, and the same essential touch interface that LG has used since the Prada and other phones that are considered the Dare's spiritual ancestors. Typing requires an on-screen keyboard that works in landscape mode.
Timing of the phone's launch is still uncertain, though a guest to a presentation with access to the Dare suggests that the phone will debut in two weeks' time, possibly placing its release in the same launch window as the iPhone's sequel as well as the Instinct.

Looks like another Symbian OS phone... thanks, but no thanks. Wake me when we see a serious touchscreen phone running Linux.
