3G iPhone to be thinner, longer battery life?

3G iPhone design insight

As the suspected June introduction date for the third generation iPhone rolls closer, a developer claims to have accurate insight into the device's specifications. While Apple has not yet confirmed any specs, the insider reveals that the 3G iPhone would be thinner than the present model, with double the internal memory – 16GB and 32GB – as well as sporting a longer battery life. The tipster says that Apple CEO Steve Jobs will launch the device on June 9th at the WWDC.

Supporting a long-standing theory, the developer also noted that the iPhone will have built-in GPS positioning, while also maintaining an aggressive $200 price tag to compete with the BlackBerry.

Reports did not confirm whether or not earlier design leaks were going to take effect, such as a completely plastic back with a white, black, or red coloured shell.

    Ask Yourself

Who is this source, and why should we believe them? It's not as if MacNN is usually right on rumors, but just puts them all out there.

Aside from that, thinner? Guess it's one more thing I've got to worry about breaking in my pocket. I guess that will be a boon for case manufacturers...

Can't break the rule of 3

Thinner, more battery life, 3G GPS. You can pick only TWO of the three.

    Oh man..

if they do have a 300$ price point on an 8 gig, I hope they'll be a method to get an upgrade. I have a Refurb 4 gig model, and a new 16 gig would be sweet. Living in NY City, that would also mean I could probably get the G3 speeds.

    Right...

"It's going to be thicker. No it's thinner. It's got 3G. No it's got 3G and GPS. It's plastic. No it's colored aluminum. Battery life will be longer. No it will chew through batteries. It's going to be $100 subsidized. No it's going to be $200 for entry level"

Rumors, rumors. They're fun to read, but take it all with a grain of salt. This one seems to have been released to provide some disappointment for the actual release.

    2nd Gen not 3rd Gen

Did I miss something here. This is the 2nd Generation iPhone with 3G Technology NOT the 3rd Generation iPhone as the article point out.
