Flip Video's new Flip Minos spotted in catalog

Flip Video may not have officially revealed any new products yet, but a new simple video camcorder from the company has been spotted on Wednesday in a B&H print catalog. While not much is known about the new camera, its $180 retail price suggests it will be the company's flagship offering, and will be available in black or white.

The current Flip range tops out at $150 for the Flip Video Ultra Series, or $30 less than the Minos. That camera sports a 2GB flash memory capacity good for up to 60 minutes of recordings in a 640x480 web-friendly resolution. The camera's low price point is achieved thanks to a fixed-focus lens and 0.25-inch VGA CMOS sensor. The pocket-sized cameras also use AA batteries, and interface with computers thanks to an integrated USB connection. An NTSC cable is included for playback on TVs. The Minos specs should at least match these specs, and possibly improve on them.

The Flip cameras recently received added competition in form of Creative's Flip clone, the Vado. The catalog lists the Minos' release date as June 4. [via Cnet]
