XSKN corroborates iPhone design with case

updated 05:50 pm EDT, Mon May 19, 2008

XSKN 3G iPhone skin

Amid leaked designs of the 3G iPhone, iPod accessory manufacturer XSKN has unveiled silicone sleeves that corroborate a design that has been leaked from several sources, featuring a rounded, tapered backside. While not an official notice by any stretch of the imagination, it certainly seems to support earlier reports of the much-discussed plastic-backed design. The cases ship in 13 vibrant color combinations, and are available for $25.

Reports came in during April that 3G iPhones were spotted on the street, featuring a black plastic shell and curvier features.

Another report indicates that Apple's iPhone 2.0 launch partners were slipped a template that indicates specific design dimensions, as well as a potential color swatch of white, black, and red.

    personally..

i dont really like this new possible design. I know why they are doning this rounded structure like they did on several other apple products, but i really liked the current design and was hoping for something along those lines but enhanced. This to me is starting to look like the cheap roundedness of the crack berry.

I also very much liked the design of my original Ti book. oh well still may trade in my old (golly 1 year already) iPhone for this new one.

    A problem with looks?

Wouldn't it matter more on how the shape feels when it it's in your hands? Or if there's more room for internal hardware, such as a larger battery? Why concern yourself with whether it looks cheap or not? What matters is how well the device works.

I'm not questioning your opinion, it's just that function should be as much important as form and for an electronic device, maybe more important. Since you will be trading your old iPhone in you also want those extra functions. I guess there's always some sort of trade-off.

Apple never stands still on it's designs. Gotta make this year's iPhone look different from last year's iPhone so people know you got the latest and greatest.

    Dont trust XSKN

This is a small fly-by-night operator in China - with a 2 person office. One Lajo and another Angela. They seem to be just outsourcing and buying stuff from other Chinese manufacturers. My experience of dealing with them has been horrible.
I bought something from them directly from their website. They shipped wrong items and then completely shut-up. Posting "tickets" on their site or sending e-mails elicited no replies. Unfortunately I paid with Paypal and they informed that since XSKN has "shipped" something, they could not be held liable !!

So anything that comes out of the mouths of these cheats, I would take with a large tumbler of salt.
