T-Mobile: 100,000+ iPhones sold in Germany

100K + iPhones in Germany

T-Mobile has sold over 100,000 iPhones in Germany, according to the head of the carrier's parent company, Deutsche Telekom. CEO Rene Obermann made the statement Thursday as a follow-up to statistics from January, which indicated that it had sold 70,000 iPhones since the device's local debut in early November of 2007. While the figure points to a relative slowdown in sales, T-Mobile board member Hamid Akhavan says that this is "about in line" with corporate targets.

Akhavan further comments that price cuts on the 8GB iPhone, to as low as €99, have recently helped boost sales. These cuts will cease to apply as of June 30th, but many analysts believe that Apple will release or at least announce a 3G iPhone before that date arrives.

    Is this a good...

number sold or not? I can't tell if they don't give a reference to other smartphones sold numbers. I hope they sell three times as many 3G iPhones. If the iPhone has every feature including the kitchen sink and a cheaper price, there'd be no reason for anyone to not buy it.
