Aliph Jawbone 2

Following a last-minute leak, Aliph tonight unveiled the Jawbone 2 Bluetooth headset. The company promises it has learned lessons from the original while keeping its namesake voice detection system, which measures voice activity from the jaw to provide extremely accurate noise cancellation. The earpiece is more discreet than the earlier version at half the size but is said to be even more effective at blocking outside sound. The ear hook itself is also more comfortable and detaches entirely for users whose ears are already a good fit.

Aliph has also revamped the Jawbone's charging mechanism and relies on a simple magnetic attachment that reliably attaches to the headset without being difficult to remove. Version 2 of the headset should be in AT&T-specific and general retail stores as early as Thursday and will sell for the same $130 as the initial model. A black version is currently the only option but should ultimately be followed by gold and silver models.

I can't find any specifications details about the new bluetooth Jawbone, even on Aliph's website. For instance, is it Bluetooth 2.1? The older version is Bluetooth 1.2
