Extended battery upgrade for MacBook Air (external)

QuickerTek has introduced an extended battery upgrade for Apple's MacBook Air, which it says offes six to ten hours of additional battery power -- for a total of 12-16 hours of battery life when used in conjunction with the (charged) internal battery. "Since the MacBook Air has a non-removeable battery, the typical user strategy of using multiple batteries is not possible. QuickerTek had already developed battery charging technology for MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops, but those solutions did not charge AND power the computer at the same time. QuickerTek's MacBook Air External Battery powers and charges the internal battery while in use."

The company claims that the External Battery Charger recharges in only three hours (versus four hours via the included AC adapter). The 1.2lb battery, which users Lithium-Ion Polymer technology and offers a LED charging status indicator, is styled to match the MacBook Air, but the company cautions that the product should not be used with MacBooks or MacBook Pro models.

The battery costs $300 and comes with a one-year warranty.

I personally don't need one, but it's great to have this available to remove one of the complaints about a non-removable battery. Now those people (and there were LOTS of them chiming in when the Air was first announced) who wouldn't buy a laptop that wouldn't let them work for the entire duration their regular New York to Sydney flights can place their Air orders.

I would assume they are using the Magsafe connector, but I thought Apple wasn't licensing it?
