Panasonic unveils all-in-one Blu-ray surround system

Panasonic on Thursday unveiled its latest home-theatre-in-a-box, which features a built-in Blu-ray player. Gearlog writes that the SC-BT100 also features an iPod dock that allows users to play both video and audio content through to the system, while displaying menus on the TV screen, and the included remote can be used to control the iPod. Panasonic will ship the SC-BT100 in the spring for $1000.

In addition to iPod connectivity, the 5.1 system - which can be upgraded to 7.1 - features an SD memory card slot to display digital video and photos.

The embedded receiver is compatible with Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD, DTS-HD High Resolution, DTS-HD Master Audio, and Linear PCM. The kit comes with a Kelton subwoofer, which Panasonic says is designed to reduce noise while delivering more base.

Separately, Panasonic said it would ship the DMP-BD50 - it's third generation Blu-ray player - in the spring for $700.
