Parrot designer frame

Parrot on Tuesday announced the latest addition to its range of digital photo frames with one designed by French artist Andrée Putman. The near six-inch screen is framed with contrasting black and white tones with subtle transparency. Transferring photos, in typical Parrot fashion, can be done wirelessly thanks to the frame's integrated Bluetooth connectivity. The frame also kicks off the wireless mobile telephony device maker's Designer Collection of products.

Apart from the ability to upload photos from a cell phone, the designer frame features an SD card slot and internal memory capable of storing 400 photos accessed by a mini-USB cable. The screen features custom light settings and the ability to reproduce 262,144 colors for high-quality viewing. An integrated gyroscope flips the photos when the frame is placed in the vertical position.

The Andrée Putman-designed Parrot frame will be available in Europe and Asia starting in June, and carry an equivalent price of between about $460 and $490, depending on currency.
