Lenovo mocks MacBook Air ad with X300

Lenovo is taking a jab at Apple's MacBook Air with a commercial for the company's new ThinkPad X300 ultraportable. The ad, posted on YouTube, shows the MacBook Air sliding out of its infamous document envelope, while the anonymous hands fumble with connecting a USB hub, several accessories – including the USB Superdrive – before cramming the computer and previously mentioned accessories back into the envelope, tearing it.

The ad resumes with a fresh envelope, with the unseen user opening it to find the ThinkPad X300. Placing it on the envelope and opening the lid reveals the slogan "ThinkPad X300. The no-compromise ultraportable". The hands then close the laptop, and another slogan fills the white space, claiming "We don't add stuff on. We build it in." before flashing the company logo.

Lenovo touts the X300 as being a complete system, due to its three USB ports and built-in Ethernet connection, while also offering an option of a built-in DVD burner and up to 4GB of memory.

where is the AC adapter to plug into the wall? I'd imagine that both envelopes would rip open after stuffing that in them!!! So Lenovo, you "cute" ad is mute!

Sure, the X300 makes no compromises.

Unless you're talking about cost. Or thickness. Or power. Or design, or portability, or the compatibility with multiple operating systems, or the amount of RAM, or HD capacity.

But other than those things, NO COMPROMISES.

Great, for an extra $1000 I get wired ethernet and a couple more USB ports that I might not need. Oh, and it's 25% slower (based on clock speed only)...

Nice truthful ad. I have to give it to them that they did a good job with the hardware. Now as far as usability is concerned they still run Windows which makes the hardware basically useless. So great hardware lousy software I am sticking to Mac Air thank you.
...except in the OS

...I don't see Mac OS X running on it (legally). Sounds like that's ONE BIG COMPROMISE right there.

Don't get me wrong, I love Mac, but I really wish Apple would put design before functionality all the darn time. Choice is nice too. But, like macdan2004 said the ultimate compromise is that I have run Windows only. So I'll take what Apple tosses me.

No one is asking you to make fun of Apple fanbois either, but you did it. Which of the above comments seems to be the most childish?
