Moto 2008 Roadmap Leak

Much of Motorola's cellphone launch roadmap for 2008 has been revealed courtesy of a leak on the Chinese-language site it168 and picked up by JAMP. Seemingly confirmed by the existence of phones launched earlier in the year, such as the ROKR E8, the escaped details validate reports of unannounced devices. New in the slip are the A810 and L800T: both will serve as mid-range phones with 2-megapixel cameras in either slider (A810) or candybar (L800T) forms. The A810 will serve as a music phone with a native 3.5mm headphone jack and a navigation wheel, while the L800T will be the company's first phone to support China's developing TD-SCDMA 3G network and is meant primarily for that country.

A new slider phone, the VE75, appears with a 2.6-inch, 400x240 screen but is otherwise kept secret by the leak.

The image and accompanying specifications also refer to handsets previously seen only in earlier leaks. Both the A1600 and A1800 appear and are known to be sequels to the popular MING touch phones. Their specifications aren't listed but have previously been suggested as similar, focusing either on Wi-Fi (A1600) or CDMA and dual SIM slots (A1800) to ensure that travelers to and from Asia can access the Internet.

The ZN5 is also visible and is already known to include a 5-megapixel, Kodak-derived camera; new details also suggest a bright Xenon flash as well as a 2.4-inch LCD and a Linux-based operating system in a design that measures 0.46in thick.

Despite the details, launch information is unknown for the phones outside of their 2008 unveilings, though the A810 at a minimum is unlikely to arrive in North America given the lack of 850MHz calling support.
