iPhone case with signal boost debuts

Griffin Technology has announced ClearBoost, a protective case for iPhone with a built-in booster antenna. Thee polycarbonate case claims to offer greater coverage and faster downloads as well as the protection from bumps and scratches. Griffin says the ClearBoost for iPhone is the first of a family of antenna boosting cases based around the "ClearBoost technology." The company says the case works by capturing more of the available wireless signals and passing it to the internal iPhone antenna. ClearBoost for iPhone, priced at $30, is available now.

    wow!

    Very nice. I'm happy that it doesn't look hideous like most of the other iPhone cases. I have an Agent 18 echoshield case in black. This new Griffin case is very similar in shape and design. Nice job! I just might get one :)

    Don't need

    I like the idea, but I really haven't had any trouble with signals. I also like to use my iPhone "naked" and use a case to protect the screen. (This one:http://www.sfbags.com/products/iphonesmartcase/iphonesmartcase.htm)

    I agree that the Griffin doesn't look bad, but it doesn't add much either.

    Curious video

    They have a video to show how to get into Field Test mode to see how much it helps, but never show the before/after...just after. Curious. They say it provides 4-5 dB improvement in signal strength, but why not show it?
