Poll shows Apple has strongest impact on consumers
A new online poll, conducted by brandchannel.com, shows Apple as having the greatest impact on the lives of global consumers, over any other company and well ahead of chief rival Microsoft. More than 2,000 students and professionals took part in the poll, and a majority recognized Apple as a "most inspiring brand," one they "couldn't live without," according to Reuters.
"Apple has clearly captured the hearts and minds by leading across most categories. Others, such as the USA nation brand, which ranks highly as most in need of a rebrand, requires help according to our readers," says brandchannel editor Jim Thompson.
On the subject of Apple, an anonymous survey respondent is said to have commented that there is "never a dull moment" with the company, and that it is "reinventing itself all along and providing, over and over again, a new perspective on what we thought was carved in stone." Conversely, another participant is said to have described Microsoft has having "gone from innovative and bold to stodgy and follower."
The survey does not however take into account opposition to branding, and Reuters notes that it also ignores the economic value of a brand, a factor which has regularly placed Coca-Cola in the number one position.

I for one would like to welcome our new conumser overlords.
thank you very much, all of you who voted for George W. Fucktard.
ROTFLMAO! Since when was MS 'innovative and bold'? The truth is they are the same company they were 12 years ago, it is Visturd and Zzzzzzune, contrasted with the overwhelming success of OS X and iPod, which has exposed their weaknesses for all to see.
The world, and especially these forums, will be a much better place without your foul comments.
Btw, climacs, I'm happy to say, you're welcome ;-).
Up until Bush it was pretty much the preserve of rich, white, competent candidates.
Then Mr. Rove was interrupted a second time from a group who stood up with the typical "blood" splattered banner with the words "'War Criminal' emblazened on it, while one guy read from a paper the usual tripe one comes to expect from these people. However, the crowd in the audience tired of the shenanigans drowned out his tripe when shouting 'shut-up' over the protesters speech, and then someone yelled to the officers taking the 'banner holders' out of the auditorium, to 'Tase them' which after initial laughter, resulted in the rallying cry of the remaining audience, "tase-them, tase them".
Climacs seems to fall in the category of an 'intellectual' who, according to GWU crowd, needs to be tased! :)
Wait, I'm confused. I thought MS was the one thing "destroying america" (after feminists and gays and those left-wing liberals at Fox - I'm talking to you, Colmes!).
Or maybe it was the patent system. Or the legal system. The eco-terrorists at the ASPCA. Activist judges. Wall street analysts (they should be much higher). The RIAA/MPAA. Those idiots who sold apple stock at $195/share (jarod tells me they're idiots, anyway - caused my portfolio value to become decimated).
But besides them.....
Me? I blame capitalism for everything.
