Apple TV updated to 2.0.1
Apple has released an update for the Apple TV, its media-streaming set-top box. The onboard firmware version has now reached v2.0.1, and primarily introduces a "Genres" category to the Movie menu, allowing viewers to browse titles by their mood. Also applied are a variety of unspecified bug fixes, improving general stability in the firmware. The update must be downloaded directly from a network-connected Apple TV, which takes approximately 10 minutes.

It's 2.0.1 not 2.1

AppleTV is at 2.0.1, not 2.1.

Correction, please

Yes, it's 2.01, not 2.1. What is going on lately with the journalistic quality and accuracy of MacNN? It's like it's being run by a bunch of Windows monkeys. Get it straight guys!

OMG! They wrote the wrong version number! The journalistic world will be coming to an end real soon now!
BTW, there is nothing intrinisically better or worse between Mac users and Windows users. h***, I'm a mac user.

Good update, not great

I like the addition of Genres, but better yet the fact that navigation is once again responsive. But I still find this version 2 release to be buggy. I frequently have to reboot my Apple TV to get new content to display quickly, which I didn't have to do before. And I am quite surprised how long the thing takes to boot. I'm still very happy with it, though.

This actually makes a difference. I read the article title in my RSS feed and thought, "Oh sh*t another update, the other one must have had issues"
Just because you didn't pick up on the error, those no need to make light of those who picked up on it.

Network Bugs In 2.0.1

iSights has reported that the 2.0.1 update causes significant networking issues, with dropped connections in the middle of playback the norm and not the exception.
They recommend NOT installing 2.0.1 if you want your Apple TV to be anything other than a brick.
