ASUS Eee PC desktop spotted?

ASUS Eee Desktop Spotted

ASUS' long-promised Eee PC desktop has finally been pictured, according to shots sent into Hot Hardware. Referred to by ASUS as the E-DT, the system is designed to do for Linux desktops what the Eee PC accomplished for notebooks: the new design is both low-cost, foregoing an optical drive, but also fashionable with a side imprint and even a stand that appears to float the desktop off the ground. Systems should also be available in multiple colors, starting with at least black and white models.

In its past statements, ASUS has already stated that the E-DT would be equipped at first with a Celeron processor similar to the Eee but would quickly move to what's now known as the Atom once it became readily available. The Taiwan PC maker also promised that the system would ship by April or May and sell for between $200 and $300 US, with the ultimate goal of pushing the cost down to $200 over time. It's unclear as to whether ASUS will offer multiple trim levels as it does with its Eee PC portables.
