CatalystOffice business suite gains Mac support

updated 10:15 am EDT, Tue March 25, 2008

CatalystOffice on Macs

CatalystWeb has announced that its CatalystOffice suite is now compatible with the Mac, through the operating system's custom version of Mozilla Firefox. CatalystOffice is actually a web-based suite, and is thus compatible with multi-platform businesses; it incorporates e-mail, calendar, document management and IM software all together, and can be accessed from home as well as the office. Administrators can manage permissions for various tasks, such as event scheduling and file access.

Documents are (generally) not stored locally in the suite, but rather on CatalystWeb's servers; this is reflected in pricing, as businesses can pay anywhere from $25 a month for 10GB of storage, to $125 a month for 100GB. Files can be edited offline, but are expected to be uploaded again to maintain version consistency.
