PopChar X 3.4 adds new search, menu options
Ergonis Software today unveiled PopChar X 3.4, an update to its special character finding and typing utility, offering several new features such as an enhanced search feature. The search function can now locate characters by name, Unicode number, or example. Users also have access to a new contextual menu which allows then to copy characters to the clipboard. Ergonis Software is currently selling PopChar X 3.4 for €30 (~$50)
In addition to functionality upgrades, PopChar X 3.4 also improves compatibility with Leopard, as well as several other applications such as InDesign and Excel.
"If you are dealing with texts containing foreign characters you often come across characters you haven't seen before. You don't know their name, their Unicode number, and particularly not how to type them on your keyboard," said Christoph Reichenberger, founder and CEO of Ergonis Software. "Now all you have to do is to copy the characters in question and paste them into PopChar's search field. PopChar will instantly show you all the information about these characters, including how to type them on your keyboard, if at all possible
