Cinematte plug-in for Macs
Nova Design has released the Mac version of Cinematte, a Photoshop plug-in that generates masks and clipping paths based on blue- or green-screen technology. Users can set up batch processing through Actions, and output mattes, layer masks, transparencies and keyed foregrounds. A real-time preview lets users check results, and special coding works to prevent color spill or the alteration of foreground colors.
The Mac version represents an upgrade over its Windows equivalent, with faster performance, "tighter" integration into Photoshop, and better virtual memory management for large files. Versions of the plug-in are available for Mac OS 8.6 though to the latest edition of Mac OS X; it can be used with programs including Photoshop Elements and CS3, but it only supports RGB images up to 20MB in size. Cinematte is currently half its normal price at $95.
