Office 2004 11.4
The Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit today announced Office 2004 11.4, an update to the suite (which has now been replaced by Office 2008) that resolves a longstanding security issue. Specifically, the new release fixes a vulnerability that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer's memory with malicious code. Before you install this update, make sure that the Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.3.9 Update is installed on your computer. To verify that you have installed this update, select the Microsoft Component Plugin file in the Microsoft Office 2004/Office folder on your hard disk, and then on the File menu, click Get Info.
The new release is the latest a string of security updates for the suite. In October 2007, Microsoft quietly posted another security update to its Office 2004 for Mac suite. Office 2004 for Mac 11.3.8 Update, the company said, fixes "a vulnerability in Word 2004 that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer's memory with malicious code."
Office 2004 11.4 is a 12MB download.

It's called a "combo updater"-- look into it!
Right now, if I reinstall Office 2004 on a machine I have to (IIRC) install 11.3.5, 11.3.6, 11.3.7, 11.3.8, 11.3.9 and 11.4. It's kind of a pain.
Is it really so hard to roll all the previous updates into the newest updater?

I've had all the previous versions installed up to today. I installed 11.4.0 this morning, and I've been having problems. Entourage has crashed twice while reading email and Word crashed once while viewing a document.
