Speed Download 5

Yazsoft today unveiled Speed Download 5, a major update to its download and bandwidth manager, introducing a number of new features. Sporting a brand new interface, Speed Download also features several engine and component optimizations, increasing speed and compatibility. Users can download in simplified or advanced modes, and the minimized mode resembles the iTunes mini player. New users can purchase Speed Download 5 for $25, while users who bought v.4.x between January 1st, 2008 and February 12th, 2008 may upgrade for free.

Speed Download features an overhauled built-in FTP client with support for additional connections and a dual pane preview. Filters can be applied to search through downloads, and bandwidth throttling can be adjusted manually. Users can also schedule and queue files for download and the Dock icon now displays pertinent information to the download.

Yazsoft is offering users a chance to win a raffle for one of two 8GB iPhones, by submitting their email into a draw, with no purchase necessary. Users who purchase Speed Download 5, however, receive three entries per license purchased. The contest runs from February 12th, until March 31st, 2008.

    Stupid How?

How is someone who paid $50 for 12 great applications stupid? I would call them a wise consumer. And now Yazsoft is hoping some of those Macheist bundle purchases turn into upgrades. I say smart for Yazsoft too.
