GFQ external drives debut

Fantom Drives today debuted G-Force GFQ Quad Interface, a new series of photo-ready external hard drives that support USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800, and eSATA connectivity. Boasting a maximum throughput of 300MB/sec, the enclosure features a compact fan-free heat-dissipating aluminum design for portability and near silent operation, according to the company. The G-Force GF1000Q (1TB capacity) is priced at $400, while the GF750Q (750GB) and GF500Q are available for $280 and $190, respectively.

Users can rest the drives horizontally or vertically with an included stand, and the GF1000Q includes NTI Shadow software for real-time continuous backups in addition to scheduled backups on most storage devices.

"Our Photo-Ready series of external storage devices come in a range of capacities with a variety of performance and data protection options," said Fantom marketing director Joe Trupiano. "For both professionals and amateurs, we deliver solutions that keep their photos safe and secure."
