PDF2Office Pro 4.0 adds Leopard, Office 2008
Recosoft has released the fourth edition of PDF2Office Professional, its flagship conversion utility. The program primarily converts PDF documents into Microsoft Office formats such as Word or PowerPoint, but also outputs to more generic formats such as RTF. As much of a document's original layout is preserved as possible, including paragraphs, styles, graphic elements and tables.
Professional 4.0 is said to include some 300 enhancements, foremost among these being compatibility with Mac OS X Leopard, along with Office 2008. Also present is the ability to export to an HTML page, and static processing that creates easier forms for word processors. Finally the program uses Recosoft's new PDF Reconstruction 4.1 engine, which improves paragraph formation, table recognition, and several other rendering aspects. The full version of the software costs $130, while an upgrade from other Pro versions is $60. If a user bought v3.1 on or after November 25th though, v4.0 is free.
