Office '08 VL to ship

The Mac Business Unit (Mac BU) today announced that Office 2008 for Mac will be available for Volume License (VL) customers on February 1st. Office 2008 for Mac is currently available in English, French, and Japanese for VL customers. Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, and Nordic languages are slated for VL availability on March 1st, according to the Mac BU.

Microsoft began shipping Office 2008 for Mac retail on January 15th, but experienced some difficulties after the launch. Reports surfaced on January 25th that the business suite software shipped with improper permissions handling, which eased the process of large-scale deployments but increased difficulties for IT specialists.

Microsoft acknowledged the flaw the following day, and promised to deliver a fix.

Is there a link to this "announcement"? It's still not available on Microsoft's own volume licensing page. I can't seem to find anything about it at the mactopia site or their blogs.

they waited till all the bugs and un/usability information was released.

We'll be holding off of this one till a few service packs have been released. First Vista, now Office.

0 for 2, Microsoft. 0 for 2.
