Briefly: Jedit X review, Motion templates

In brief: We've posted a review of the text editor Jedit X, a Motion templates repository site has been updated, the Toronto OS X integrators meeting has been announced, Great White Software has acquired RBLibrary, and a Final Cut Pro UK Seminar Tour will soon take place ... We've posted a review of Jedit X, a multi featured word processor and text editor designed to create, modify, and open text and RTF (Rich Text Format) documents. The tool can also be used to script and create source code. Jedit X has been around for 11 years and is the most popular text editor in Japan, so you will see a number of Japanese features in the menus. It can save documents as RTF, HTML, Text, Word, and Word XML Documents and shines in its ability to work with other Mac programs.

Motion template site updated

motionVFX, a site that offers offers HD Templates for Apple's Motion software which are prepared in 1920x1080 resolution, 24fps, has been updated. The site has now extended its offer to hi-res Royalty-Free Photos, and you can now download all our products with new preview capabilities. The site's President told us: "To serve all our customers better, our plan is to extend our store with new products daily, so expect fast grow. By the way, we have some new 3D templates for Motion 3 available in our collection now as well."


Toronto OS X integrators meeting announced

IronGate Server Management and Consulting has announced the Toronto OS X Birds of a Feather meetings. These seminars introduce real life implementations of OS X and OS X Server in practical situations. Presentations are given by both industry experts and system administrators with open discussions and group collaboration. In the February 6th session, Steve Hayman will be discussing Scripting and Automation in Leopard - he'll talk about the state of scripting in Mac OS X 10.5, including recent changes to Applescript, Automator, and other scripting tools. Among other things he'll show off some of the ways that scripting lets you extend Apple Remote Desktop to simplify some common tasks.

Great White Software Acquires RBLibrary

Great White Software today announced today the acquisition of RBLibrary.com, a site that harbors articles about a wide variety of topics for beginner to expert users of REALbasic. "We acquired RBLibrary so that REALbasic users will continue to have a well-known, trusted, and dependable source of information about REALbasic." stated Norman Palardy, principal of Great White Software. "In addition, we look forward to expanding the offerings of RBLibrary and enhancing the relationship with already established authors and readers." Great White Software is a software design, development and consulting company that creates plugins in C++ and full applications written entirely in REALbasic.

Final Cut Pro UK Seminar Tour

Three new PowerUP With Final Cut Studio seminars will be held in Leeds, Birmingham, London and Glasgow ext week (February 4th - 15th).
