Apple Q1 report on Jan. 22

Apple's report for the first quarter of fiscal year 2008 is due on January 22nd, reports say. The details will be webcast starting at 2PM Pacific Time, or 5PM Eastern. Expectations are once again fairly high, as Apple stock has teetered on the $200 mark, and as many as 24 to 25 million iPods may have been sold in just a portion of the last quarter. Furthermore, Mac sales appear set to exceed some consensus estimates by approximately 100,000 units.

While the value of Apple stock is readily expected to hit $210 in the next several months, some analysts have predicted it may go even higher, as much as $600 within the next 18 months. This view is based mainly on the iPhone, of which Apple expects to sell $10 million by the end of 2008. The company plans to introduce a 3G iPhone sometime in the year, and rumors have circulated for months that a lower-cost "iPhone nano" may also be announced at an unknown date.
